Another attack on Americans signing Secession petitions…

Here’s another conservative commentator railing at the honest expression of displeasure with Obama as revealed in all the signatures for secession.

This is sad and I absolutely disagree with the author.

Let the secessionists leave the Republican Party, or whatever the threat is this time. We have to immediately mock and marginalize these people, not coddle lunacy and sympathize with stupid. At least if they can’t be associated with the conservative movement, they’re somebody else’s problem.

Scalia vs. Thomas Jefferson on secession

Here is an interesting piece on a hot topic. There are now some 675,000 signatures from around the country of people desiring that their state secede from the union. They would all get a kick out of my novel. I wrote it with them in mind.

Here is a pull quote on the issue from Thomas Jefferson:

Jefferson wrote that states “should separate from our companions only when the sole alternatives left, are the dissolution of our Union with them, or submission to a government without limitation of powers.”He continued, “Between these two evils, when we must make a choice, there can be no hesitation.”
