Exclusive: John Cornyn Rips Chuck Schumer’s Media ‘Shield Law’

I write about this in my novel. They are called “Advocacy Networks” approved by the Dear Leader. So now, we see democrats seeking it in reality. Does anyone think this will be different than the IRS targeting conservatives? You must spout the liberal mantra to be approved… which means attacking the Tea Party, gun rights, etc…

“They want to pick and choose which journalists are covered,” the Texan Republican told Breitbart News. “In other words, if you’re a blogger they might not cover you, but if you work for the New York Times they might. Given the changes in the way we get information and the way we consume news, that really smacks to me in essence of government licensing who’s an official ‘journalist’ for the purposes of a shield law and who’s not. If there is one thing I can glean from the First Amendment, it is that government should not be in the business of licensing the news media.”

Riot Control: DHS Spends $500,000 on Fully Automatic Pepper Spray Launchers

This federal government under Barry gets closer and closer to my novel.

The Department of Homeland Security is increasing its preparations for domestic unrest by spending half a million dollars on fully automatic pepper spray launchers and projectiles that are designed to be used during riot control situations.

Report: Legalizing illegal immigrants to cost $6.3 trillion – Washington Times

It matters not to Democrats. Getting votes is all that matters. Destruction of the USA? Hell, they don’t like America anyhow.

The Heritage Foundation said Monday that legalizing illegal immigrants would cost taxpayers a net $6.3 trillion over the next 50 years — releasing a report that ignited a venomous battle over an immigration bill and who is truly representing the conservative movement in the debate.

Driving the costs in the Heritage report are simple demographics: Illegal immigrants are more likely to lack a high school education, and more than a third of households headed by illegal immigrants live below the poverty line, meaning those households consume more in services than they pay in taxes.

Police raid man’s home over Facebook photo of son with rifle

From today’s American Thinker. An example of my novel’s Bureau of Socially Correct Activities at work:

What kind of parent allows an 11-year old kid to pose with a rifle?

A certified firearms instructor for the NRA:

New Jersey police and Dept. of Children and Families officials raided the home of a firearms instructor and demanded to see his guns after he posted a Facebook photo of his 11-year-old son holding a rifle.

“Someone called family services about the photo,” said Evan Nappen, an attorney representing Shawn Moore. “It led to an incredible, heavy-handed raid on his house. They wanted to see his gun safe, his guns and search his house. They even threatened to take his kids.”

Moore was not arrested or charged.

A Dept. of Children and Families spokesperson told Fox News they could not confirm or deny an investigation or raid had taken place due to government regulations.

“The department has a child abuse hotline for the state of New Jersey and anybody can make a call to that hotline,” spokesperson Kristen Brown said. “We are required to follow up on every single allegation that comes into the central registry.”

Moore, of Carneys Point, is a certified firearms instructor for the National Rifle Association, an NRA range safety officer and a New Jersey hunter education instructor.

He recently posted a photograph of his son wearing camouflage and holding his new .22 rifle. The child has a New Jersey hunting license and recently passed the state’s hunter safety course.

“If you look at the picture, his finger isn’t even on the trigger – which is proper,” Nappen told Fox News. “If half of Hollywood could follow that rule we’d be thankful.”

Brown said their role is not to go out and search Facebook for photos of children holding weapons.

“In general our role is to investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect,” she said.

The family’s trouble started Saturday night when Moore received an urgent text message from his wife. The Carneys Point Police Dept. and the New Jersey Dept. of Children and Families had raided their home.

Moore immediately called Nappen and rushed home to find officers demanding to check his guns and his gun safe.

Instead, he handed the cell phone to one of the officers – so they could speak with Nappen.

“If you have a warrant, you’re coming in,” Nappen told the officers. “If you don’t, then you’re not. That’s what privacy is all about.”

With his attorney on speaker phone, Moore instructed the officers to leave his home.

How is it that taking a picture of your son holding a rifle is now “child abuse and neglect” and warrants a visit from DCF? How is it that a young boy (note his stance with the barrel pointed up and away and his finger nowhere near the trigger), obviously trained in firearms safety, is considered “abused” because there are guns in the house?

The anti-gun hysteria unleashed by the Obama administration and the Democrats isn’t working. Senator Feinstein’s assault weapons ban is now officially dead, according to Harry Reid. And the expanded background checks are on life support.

But the exaggerated rhetoric will continue to entrap citizens like Mr. Moore whose only crime was his obvious pride in his son.

Obama firing military leaders who say they will not shoot fellow Americans?

Go read this article:

Dr. Garrow is not known for being a wild crackpot or part of the political fringe, so when he recently made the following post on his Facebook page, it got the attention of a number people:

“I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new ‘litmus test’ in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. ‘The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.’ Those who will not are being removed.”

via Obama Tailoring Military Leadership to Only Those Who Will Shoot Fellow Americans. Michael Mcart “Mick McArt”s review of By Force of Patriots

Wow. What a wonderful analysis and review.

If anyone was wondering what would happen if the policies of our government get too out of control, this book does not pull any punches. Cameron does a marvelous job at painting a picture of a not-so-distant future where our rights are under attack, not only by shady politicians, but by an apathetic citizenry.

What I really like about this book is the character development. Just when you think the story is going one way, a thoughtful character takes it in another direction. It isnt just a good vs. evil tale. This story unravels the way morality is shifting today and the thoughts that drive it. Is the world getting better under a new socialist regime? Can a few brave men and women rescue what is left of the Constitution?

You dont have to be George Orwell to see what is going on in the world today, and this book is an interesting take on what could, or what is happening today. Gun owners will enjoy Camerons knowledge of the law, as well as his appreciation of our gun culture. I have to say that I learned a few things by reading this book about guns, history, and the law.

Enemies of the Constitution will probably be gobbling Rolaids halfway through this book. The exposing of their thought process is revealed through good storytelling and researchable truth. If you are ready for a good story, with some intense action, and are willing to think, this is the perfect book for your library.

I do feel I must offer a warning for language and a steamy situation that occurs in the story. I thought these could have been written around or in different ways, but thats just me, speaking as a Christian.

Cameron is a great storyteller with a love for his characters. I hope to see more books in the future!

A Canadian’s Version of David Letterman’s Top 10

Thanks to Tom Mullane. Original author unknown.

Canadian’s Version of David Letterman’s Top 10

1) Only in America, could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000 a plate campaign fund-raising event.

2) Only in America, could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black while only 12% of the population is black.

3) Only in America, could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

4) Only in America, can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

5) Only in America, would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege while discussing letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just ‘magically’ become American citizens.

6) Only in America, could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as “extremists.”

7) Only in America, could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

8) Only in America, could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company (Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).

9) Only in America, could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a trillion dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7 million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

10) Only in America, could the rich people – who pay 86% of all income taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.

Articles like this show that the premiss of my novel is NOT too far fetched. Scary stuff, indeed. And a thanks to Bill Woosley for this!

Thousands of people in several Argentine cities ransacked supermarkets for a second day in the latest challenge to President Chistina Kirchner, who is struggling to revive a weak economy…  In the central city Rosario, two people were killed during the incidents and 137 people arrested.

Washington’s Republicans and Democrats alike have become the toll collectors on the road to serfdom–

“The violence puts Mrs. Kirchner in a difficult position as the poor are [her] core constituents…  Her government spends billions of dollars a year to help low income families, including free health care…  [Yet] Argentine activists who claim to represent the poor traditionally block access to supermarkets in the month of December to demand free food and other items…  The latest events were some of the worst acts of looting and vandalism in years….  Local media showed dozens of men, women, and children hauling away televisions, refrigerators, and food.”

Some have said my warnings about a coming civil war between makers and takers are exaggerated.  It’s true that Argentina’s politicians have been waging class warfare since Juan and Eva Peron–and they aren’t fazed when it turns bloody. Obama and the Democrats are relative newcomers to the game.  But Argentina reveals who really suffers when those who create a nation’s wealth get mugged by those who spend it–as just happened this week in Washington.

Hillsdale College – Imprimis

This is a great piece. Those of you who have read my novel know that the concept express here is my central thesis.

This is the President of Hillsdale College:

One obvious theme to strike is that people didn’t vote for, and don’t support, higher taxes and bigger government. But conservative statesmen have to get better. Calvin Coolidge once said that great statesmen are “ambassadors of providence, sent to reveal to us our unknown selves.” What that means is that great statesmen are not going to be around very often. I’d say that the standard of conservative statesmanship today is improving, but too few prominent conservatives are skillful at explaining the problem of the modern bureaucratic state. This form of government proceeds by rules, and rules upon rules, and compliance with those rules becomes a key activity of the entire nation. That results in bureaucracy, and in the inefficiencies of bureaucracy. Constitutional government, on the other hand, proceeds by clearly stated laws.

Not grasping this is an important failure of conservative statesmen today. During the first presidential debate I stood up and slapped my leg, and my wife said to sit down and be quiet, when Mitt Romney said that business and prosperity require regulation. What he should have said instead was that of course we require laws in order to be productive and to live safely, but that laws are different than regulations. Laws are passed by elected (and thus accountable) representatives, they cover everybody equally, and we can all participate in their enforcement because they are easy to understand. Not one of those three things is true of the regulations imposed by independent boards such as those established under Obamacare and Dodd-Frank. Romney was not able to make that distinction, and yet that distinction is at the heart of the choice Americans must make about how they will be governed.

Woo hoo! Here is my latest review! 5-Star. Thanks Chris!

Whereas I have not yet completed the book, it is very interesting..there is much information which would have taken me hours to pursue and locate, it is set in a time period just ahead of us but with potential for the various things to actually happen. I am pleased with the writing, enjoy the fact that it is fiction, a small romance involvement makes it intriguing and I like the interplay between the characters. Highly recommend BY FORCE OF PATRIOTS by Cameron Reddy.

via Customer Reviews: By Force of Patriots. Degas’ review of By Force of Patriots

This is pretty interesting. After a string of 5-star reviews I got my first 3-star. Actually, I like what the reviewer said, and he pretty clearly understood that I’ve written a conservative manifesto wrapped into a thrilling story (well, as you will see, he didn’t think the story was so thrilling–perhaps a function of his admitted bias?). Still, this is an honest opinion and he touches on things that no one else has. And I really like his last two sentences!

This novel is basically a monologue on the erosion of the U.S. Constitution. As such, it does a good job of citing court cases and documents pertaining to such landmark cases as Marbury vs. Madison. It goes into great depth about the intentions of the Framers, and gives specific historic examples… all suitably referenced. If you are unfamiliar with the precedents that have moved our Nation to it’s current state, “By Force of Patriots” is a good reference work. Due to my own bias, I would recommend a careful reading of this book.

Mr. Reddy obviously understood that, in order to get people to read this book, he was going to have to submit it as a work of fiction. As a result, there is a somewhat disjointed story that, IMO, was basically shoved into the cracks between the legal points of his argument. Given what I believe is the undeniable fact that the entire book is published as a vehicle for his viewpoint and opinions, I would give this work 5 stars for educational content. However, I can only give it 1, or perhaps 2, for the story. This is how I came up with 3 stars as my overall opinion. If you’re looking for a fun, fast-paced read for a rainy Saturday, this isn’t the book. To both read and comprehend, you’ll need to spend some time with it. I would also recommend the book because, regardless of your political leanings, it will make you THINK. (emphasis supplied.)

Another attack on Americans signing Secession petitions…

Here’s another conservative commentator railing at the honest expression of displeasure with Obama as revealed in all the signatures for secession.

This is sad and I absolutely disagree with the author.

Let the secessionists leave the Republican Party, or whatever the threat is this time. We have to immediately mock and marginalize these people, not coddle lunacy and sympathize with stupid. At least if they can’t be associated with the conservative movement, they’re somebody else’s problem.
